Many people are under the illusion that racism was abolished with slavery in the 1800's but even until today, racism still runs rampant in our society, from the streets all the way up to the highest institutions! Sometimes hidden in plain sight! Many people from BAME backgrounds can tell at least one story where they have experienced racism themselves or heard about it from a friend or family member! In this day and age experiencing racism should be a thing of the past and unfortunately there are many people who believe that it no longer exists but that is not the reality for many BAME people across the globe. That is why the movie "On The Other Foot" is a much needed breath of fresh air in the current climate we are living in. It is a perfect example of the fact that no matter what colour we may be, we are all the same and our experiences be it happy or sad are what tie us together.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

"In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist. We must be anti-racist."

-Angela Davis

"It's naive to think that you aren't affected by this issue. If you think so, you are probably benefiting from this systemic oppression. Unknowingly."

-Novice. Voices of youth

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

-Martin Luther King Jr

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THE SHOE WAS ON THE OTHER FOOT?
